Foreign trade: China posts $15.9 billion trade surplus

China posted a $15.9 billion trade surplus in January, pumping more cash into the economy and adding pressure on the government to allow the yuan to rise faster.

The gap narrowed from $21 billion in the previous month, the Ministry of Commerce said today on its Web site. It was just ahead of the $15.5 billion median estimate of 20 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News.
