2005 GDP growth revised to 10.4%

China'sGDPgrowth in 2005 has been revised to the final figure of 10.4 percent, 0.5 percent higher than the previous calculation, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported on Tuesday.

China's GDP in 2005 was revised to a total of 18.3868 trillion yuan (2.3274 trillion U.S.dollars), up 78.3 billion yuan on the previous verification.

The added value of industrial sector posted the fastest growth, surging 11.7 percent from the previous year to 8.7365 trillion yuan .

The growth rate of the tertiary sector has been amended to 10.5 percent.

Agriculture grew 5.2 percent to reach 2.307 trillion yuan, equal to the initial calculation.

The report said the industrial sector comprises 47.5 percent of the national economy, the tertiary industry 40 percent and the agriculture industry 12.5 percent.

The exact figure for China's GDP growth was reached after three steps: a preliminary calculation and two verifications. The preliminary calculation produced a figure of 9.9 percent.
