Bonus blues

More than 70 percent of employees are emotionally affected by end-of-year bonuses when there is no bonus or when it does not meet expectations according to a survey conducted by China Job Online recently.

Of the discontent employees, 4 percent confront management face-to-face, 8 percent unleash their anger at work, and 25 percent try to find a better job.

Meanwhile, 30 percent of employees suffer in silence, and 30 percent do not count on receiving a bonus. Some 60 percent of employees use the bonus to finance the Spring Festival holiday or give the money to their parents. And 9 percent invest their bonus.
