WB lends China US$1.475 billion in 2006

TheWorld Bank(WB) lent China 1.475 billion U.S. dollars to finance urban and rural construction in 2006, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

The bank said that it will loan 200 million U.S. dollars to support China's railway construction.

The WB funds will be used to upgrade a railway linking Liupanshui city in southwest China'sGuizhouProvince and Zhanyi county inYunnanProvince.
