Nanjing logistics gets a boost

According to the Nanjing Municipal Communications Bureau, the total investment of the Nanjing logistics industry will reach 150 billion yuan during the11th Five-Year Programperiod (2006-2010). By 2010, the added value in the logistics industry will account for over ten percent of thegross domestic product.

Over the next five years, Nanjing Port plans to invest six billion yuan in building 29 berths in Longtan, Xiba and Tongjing port regions. Lukou International Airport will expand its international terminal and add new runways. Nanjing will also speed up the construction of five logistics bases, including Longtan, Lukou Airport, Jiangbei chemicals and metal building materials.
