Globalization of China logistics

As China's market economy develops, some enterprises with advanced management ideas, sound administration and structure and scale advantages have led the industry and become market focus points. These enterprises, including some logistics enterprises, began entering the overseas market to expand market shares and build corporate images.

In 2003, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO) made an agreement with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (Singapore PSA) to establish a joint venture in the country. COSCO also invested in a container terminal in Belgium's Antwerp Port and set up a logistics joint venture with TNT, becoming a forerunner in the internationalization of China's logistic enterprises.

China Shipping Group, another logistics giant in China, has moved its Singapore-based regional headquarters to the Malaysian Port Kelang to capture more port resources.
