Mining: Firms to redevelop North Korean mine

Chinese firms, including the State-owned China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group (NFCG), will redevelop an abandoned copper mine with a reserve of 250,000 tons in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the NFCG announced on its website Tuesday. The Hui Shan copper mine is just 10 kilometers from the China-DPRK border. Another Chinese firm, the China Nonferrous Metal International Mining Corporation, had earlier obtained the right to reopen the mine.
