With the assistance of China Netcom's Jilin Branch, a wide regional network linking Changchun and Jilin City, two of the competition venues, has already been set up.

Meanwhile, the integrated wiring project has been finished at the major gyms and stadiums for the event.

To date, 43 Asian countries and regions have signed up to participate in the Winter Asian Games, with 18 of them to take part in the competition. The number of foreign participants, including athletes, sports officials and other VIP guests for this session of the Winter Asian Games is expected to hit a record high of 3,000.

The Games service schedule is in the pipeline. The Changchun Hotel Shangri La will serve as the seat of the organizing committee, with another 24 hotels in both Changchun and Jilin City designated as the first batch of guesthouses for the event.

Scrupulous efforts have been made to improve the medical and safety services for the games. In addition, 6,000 selected volunteers have received related training for the Games.

The marketing programmes have been fully launched. The First Automotive Works Group, for instance, following China Netcom's Jilin Branch, Japan's Mizuno Co Ltd and China Unicom's Jilin Branch, became the fourth official partner of the Games on July 3.

Similar agreements will soon be signed between the organizing committee and China Southern Airlines' Jilin Branch and China.com.

PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited's Jilin Branch will undertake insurance for the event. The development of franchising products such as the mascot, commemorative stamp albums and badges has been arranged.
