Copper and aluminium are the main raw materials for cable makers, accounting
for about 70 percent of production costs.
In the first four months this year China exported 308,937 tonnes of aluminium
products and 181,909 tonnes of copper products, up 54 percent and 28 percent,
respectively, from a year earlier.
An official for Yunnan Tin Co. Ltd. , China's largest producer of tin, said
the firm would continue to sell most of its tin products at home.
He said Yunnan Tin would produce about 40,000 tonnes of tin this year of
which about 35 percent would be semi-fabricated tin products.
