Light Industry: Per capita milk hits 21.7 litres Updated: 2006-05-12 14:41
China's per capita availability of milk was 21.7 litres last year, accounting
for only one-fifth of the world's average, the Ministry of Agriculture said
yesterday. Urbanites consume 90 per cent of the country's total dairy products,
which are not popular in rural areas, either because farmers are not aware of
their nutritious value or think the products are a luxury. (China Daily)
Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Ltd., the world's top athletic footwear
manufacturer, said its April net consolidated operating revenue was US$332.55
million, up 15.5 percent from March's US$287.83 million. (Shenzhen
