 Paul E. Jacobs (right), chief executive officer of the US firm
Qualcomm, and Li Gang (left), executive vice-president of China Unicom,
yesterday hand over their donations, 1,000 mobile CDMA phones and 400,000 yuan
(US$50,000) worth of phone charge vouchers, to a representative from the Ningxia
Hui Autonomous Region. The two companies launched a CDMA technology
initiative to give poor people in two counties in Ningxia and Shaanxi Province
