High-tech products export up 36.6% in Jan, Feb (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-03-29 16:25
China's high-tech products export jumped 36.6 percent to 35.77 billion U.S.
dollars in the first two months of 2006, the China Securities Journal quoted
statistics from the Ministry of Commerce as saying Wednesday.
It is the first time China's high-tech exports made up 30 percent of the
country's total exports, it said.
In January and February, China exported cell phones worth 3.98 billion U.S.
dollars and cell phone parts worth 1.96 billion U.S. dollars, jumping 69.5
percent and 80.6 percent respectively year on year, it said.
In January and February, China exported laptop computers worth 4.63 billion
US dollars, up 28.7 percent year on year.
China also witnessed soaring exports of LCD televisions, aviation and
space-technology products and photoelectric products.
