Citroen C-Quatre sedan to debut at Shanghai auto show

Dongfeng Citroen will display several new car models at the upcoming Shanghai auto show later this month, including the newest Citroen C-Quatre sedan that will be mass-produced locally for the Chinese market.

The Citroen C-Quatre 4 hatchback made by Dongfeng Citroen was launched last August, in three versions (fashion, comfort, luxury) priced from 108,800 yuan ($15,930) to 161,800 yuan. They are powered by 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter engines.

The 2.0-liter 16V engine, also used in the C-Triomphe, adopts the continuously variable valve timing system (VVT) and can generate a power output of 108 kW and a peak torque of 200 Nm, which delivers exceptionally pleasurable driving.

The Citroen C-Quatre sedan will be a global car of Dongfeng Citroen to make its world premiere in China. It is positioned as an A-class family sedan, also driven by 1.6L and 2.0L engines for choice and equipped with the 5-speed manual and 4-speed manual-automatic transmissions.

The Citroen C-Quatre, with its European styling, state-of-the-art technology, high-quality performance and modern dynamics, is expected to lead China's mid- to high-end car market.

In addition, the new Citroen 5 (C5) sedan is being trial-made at the second plant of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Auto (DPCA), a joint venture between French PSA Peugeot Citroen and China's Dongfeng Motor. The car is expected to go on sale in China by the end of this year.
