Guidelines for Investigation and Management of Close Contacts of COVID-19 Cases
The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention released guidelines on the basis of the latest research on COVID-19 from home and abroad to further improve investigation and management of close contacts of COVID-19 cases to control the virus' spread.
The guidelines will help identify and manage close contacts in a timely manner to prevent spread of the disease and develop a clearer understanding of risk factors during various types of human contact.
The guidelines point to people in groups, both with and without protective equipment, in close contact, or general contact with suspected cases, confirmed cases, and asymptomatic infected persons.
Centralized management and medical observation should be applied in close contact management, the guidelines read, but carefully managed household isolation may be used when conditions do not permit centralized management.
