Novel coronavirus pneumonia: case surveillance protocol

China released a protocol to provide guidance for timely detection and reporting of novel coronavirus cases to ensure early detection and reporting and prevent the spread of the epidemic.

The protocol has laid out standards on identifying suspect cases, confirmed cases, asymptomatic infected persons and clusters of cases, and pointed to work methods such as case detection, epidemiological investigation, specimen collection and laboratory testing.
