MBS now in progress for the Beijing-based Master of Marketing degree
Updated: 2008-02-22 11:38

The first information session for the 2008 Beijing-based international Master of Marketing program was held on January 24 in Beijing by Melbourne Business School. And the second one will take place this coming Thursday February 28.

The Melbourne Master of Marketing 2008 intake will commence in Beijing in late August, following in the footsteps of the successful first intake last year in which Melbourne Business School recruited 27 Beijing students from 6 different countries. To meet the market needs, Melbourne Business School plans to hold monthly Master of Marketing information session from January to May to help potential candidates get a better understanding of the program and to assist them through the application process.

In the first information session, Professor Mark Crosby flew in from Melbourne Business School in Australia to present the program information. Interested professionals from a variety of organizations – many from multinational companies – participated in the information session, having signed up through the MBS online registration system.

As explained by Professor Crosby at the session, the Melbourne Master of Marketing program is designed for experienced individuals, whether marketers or not, who want to reinforce their understanding about marketing and business in today’s fast growing local and global markets. The Master of Marketing also equips marketers and would-be marketers with strong marketing theory, practical application skills and effective interpersonal skills for career development.

Recently, Melbourne Business School was ranked #8 by the Asia Pacific Journal of Management for its scholarly contributions made to leading international business journals. The Beijing-based international Master of Marketing program, with its degree granted by the University of Melbourne, is an intensive part-time program designed for local students to enable them complete the same program taught in Australia in just over one year. Melbourne Business School diversified international faculty come to Beijing for on-site teaching and coaching, and the local students are awarded the same credential as if they had studied in Australia. This program is taught in conjunction with Beihang University and is approved by the Ministry of Education of China.
