Media and audience ready for parade

Thousands of audience members and the media have completed entry admission into Tiananmen Square. Students who will serve as the background image on the square have taken their positions and promos are playing on big screens of both sides of the rostrum to praise our motherland.

Volunteers in blue on both sides of the rostrum are giving out ceremony pamphlets and bottled water.

According to the pamphlets, the parade will start with gun salutes at 10 am, followed by the national anthem and national-flag raising, President Hu Jintao's speech and mass demonstrations.

More sunny weather is in the forecast for the parade.
