Representatives of
world-class news agencies, newspapers, magazines and other media organizations
and officials of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will gather in
Beijing later this month, to discuss on media services to be provided during the
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The 2006 Annual Meeting of the IOC Press Commission is set for September 27,
2006, in Beijing. This is the first time that such an IOC commission meeting is
staged in China. IOC officials will supervise a report prepared by the Beijing
2008 Games organizers BOCOG on the preparations for the Games. And discussions
will be held on details.
And the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games First World Press Briefing (WPB) will be
held September 27-28, 2006. The attendants will listen to briefings on Games
preparations, such as competition management, venue construction and operation,
and facilities, accommodation and transportation dedicated for the media, and
the Main Press Center, photo services, rate card, Olympic News Service and
technical support for media. BOCOG officials will discuss with media
representatives on facilities and services required by the media for their
coverage of the Beijing Games. It will help BOCOG to further define media
service plans, venue operation plans and preparations for Games-time technical
support to the media.
A field of 330 is expected for these events.
