MONTREAL, July 31 - Jade Edmistone of Australia set a world record of 30.45 seconds in the final of the women's 50 metres breaststroke at the world swimming championships on Sunday.

Edmistone shaved 0.12 seconds off the previous mark of 30.57, set by Britain's Zoe Baker at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England.
